The National Board for Technology Incubation (NBTI) has opened the application portal for the Tinubu Light Initiative (TLI), a Federal Government programme aimed at helping businesses across Nigeria access more affordable and dependable renewable energy.
The initiative is designed to assist businesses struggling with the high cost of electricity and the challenges associated with unreliable power supply. Through improved access to solar energy, the programme is expected to help participating enterprises reduce operating expenses while improving productivity and long-term business sustainability.
Under the initiative, eligible business owners can use the digital platform to evaluate their energy needs and obtain recommendations on solar solutions that may be suitable for their operations.
Applicants can also submit their requests electronically and monitor the progress of their applications through the portal.
The Director-General and Chief Executive Officer of NBTI, Dr Kazeem Kolawole Raji, encouraged eligible businesses nationwide to take advantage of the programme.
Raji said access to reliable and reasonably priced energy remains an important factor in determining the competitiveness and growth of Nigerian businesses.
He explained that the Tinubu Light Initiative is part of the Federal Government’s broader effort to create a more supportive environment for enterprises by reducing energy-related operating costs, encouraging the use of clean energy and improving business efficiency.
According to the NBTI chief, the programme represents an intervention in one of the major challenges confronting businesses, particularly enterprises that depend heavily on expensive and unstable sources of electricity.
The initiative is also expected to contribute to the wider adoption of renewable energy and support the development of more sustainable businesses across the country.
Interested business owners can access the programme through the NBTI website and select the “Tinubu Light” option. The dedicated Tinubu Light platform is also available online.
NBTI advised prospective applicants to ensure that the information supplied during registration is accurate and to complete the application through the approved digital platform.
The agency reaffirmed its commitment to using technology and innovation to support enterprise development and contribute to Nigeria’s economic and sustainable development goals.
With the portal now operational, eligible businesses can begin the application process and explore available solar energy solutions through the initiative.
